This Raging Fire

Wrote this song on napkins while I was sitting in a bar on Fort Lauderdale Beach one night. I had a really amazing Hammond B3 part for one of the breaks that a friend of mine recorded, but alas, it

Aimee-Let Your Hair Hang Down
Tuesday, August 15, 2006
This is loosely based on the song "Mole in the Ground" by Bascom Lamar Lunsford. I originally intended this little tune to be a sort of earthy homage to its "old timey" roots, however, I've been

I've been writing songs and playing the guitar for what seems like a lot of years now.

These days I just write and play for my own head and enjoyment. I do occasionally preform, so if you are really intrigued, it is possible to catch me ocasionally in a club somewhere in America or busking on the street corner, but mostly I give concerts in my livingroom. haha.

I continue to write and play songs because it's like an old habit. Once you get the knack, it's hard to put an old habit down. I find my inspiration mostly from traditional American music from the South. Mostly the southern blues players of the 1930's, Appalachian folk and traditional "country" music. Quite a few of the things I write and perform are what I call "difficult" songs. That is, they are intentionally written to be lyrically difficult in a musically simple structure. Some of them are not.

I hope that you might find a song or two that speaks to you. Please feel free to download, listen and share them in anyway you like. Most of the songs are recorded straight to a couple of mics with a few different guitars and very little production. I'll continue to add to the songs posted here as I write them and re-record some of the old ones. They are free for the taking. I still hold the copyright on all of the songs, so if you want to use them in any commercial or non-commercial project, permission from the author/author's is necessary. Oh, there are more songs on my home page. Just look for the ipod player and click away.
