The NY Daily News has an interesting article on-line looking at the facts and figures of a hypothetical 4-piece band “making it big” in the music industry of 2003. The freeze-dried version goes something like this: A band that sells half a million records for just under eight and a half million frog-skins gross ends up with just over one hundred and sixty thousand dollars in their pocket. Split four ways, that’s works out to a whopping forty thousand dollars each! And this is for a record that goes gold. Well at least they still get the chicks. Read the article here.
More evidence that the music business is full of snakes and other low-lifes.
