Quick and dirty mp3 here–>> Hollywood and Highland
Recorded it at home today with the sound of the construction crew from two different condo’s being built in the background. It’s probably fitting. And it’s probably a good idea that something reflect the continuing transformation of Fort Lauderdale Beach into Queens.
The light shines for fools
the cast and the crew
up the block from fortune and vain
Time carves the street
stars shine under your feet
down on Hollywood & Highland
Fog creeps through the hills
bell rings on a broken down till
new hearts plow a valley of pain
The dawn looks the same
the next scene in a tired old play
down on Hollywood & Highland
So set em up Lu
There’s nuthin left for me to do
no one’s waitin by the door at home
just the snap of these neon lights
one more star that burned too bright
Down on Hollywood & Highland
(break)
Dreams soon fade to black
little by little they slide right down the cracks
till they don’t come come up anymore
There’s no big surprise
when you’re stone cold drunk on living lies
down on Hollywood & Highland
A still-unnamed, all-liberal talk radio network that promises to be a counterpoint to conservative powerhouses like Rush Limbaugh is planning to launch in NYC in January. The Post has the goods here. As a side note, here is an interesting article by Walter Cronkite in which he says he believes most reporters are liberals. So much for Mr. Franken’s implosion the other night on CNN.
An East Village hot dog joint is selling a new brand of hot dot that’s wrapped in bacon, deep fried and smothered in chilli and jalapenos. Read it here.
