Dixie Chicks stupidity knows no bounds.

by johnford on September 9, 2003

The mediocre country pop band The Dixie Chicks are back in Europe, and that can only mean one thing… It’s time to say something stupid! Rolling Stone is reporting Emily Robison recently told a German newspaper her opinion on Arnold Schwarzenegger’s campaign for California Governor, “America should be governed by people who have a clue. I hope he doesn’t” And that “[he] is a great film star, but I find his run for governor absolutely insane.” Link If we’re not supposed to take Arnold seriously when it comes to politics, why in the hell should we listen to her.

The RIAA make a 12-year-old girl cry.

“‘I got really scared. My stomach is all turning,’ Brianna said last night at the city Housing Authority apartment on West 84th Street where she lives with her mom and her 9-year-old brother. ‘I thought it was OK to download music because my mom paid a service fee for it. Out of all people, why did they pick me?’” Link

In related news, also among those being sued is a 71-year-old Texas man. He claims that his some of his grandkids used his computer. Link. I’m thinking about getting my dog a DSL account.

In other related news, “Senator Norm Coleman (R-Minn.), who has been critical of the Recording Industry Association of America’s (RIAA) tactics in bringing music file sharing to heel, on Monday warned consumers that signing the RIAA’s amnesty agreement may not be the brightest idea.” Link

As an update: The RIAA has settled with the 12-year old. Want to know what the geeks are saying, excellent thread on Slashdot.

“Over the next 200 years, if global warming predictions come true and nothing is done to prevent it, the ocean will surge into southwest Broward County. It will inundate Port Everglades and the million-dollar homes of Las Olas Isles. Fort Lauderdale’s claim to be the Venice of America will become too true.” Link
