Dixie Chicks in plane crash.

by johnford on September 19, 2003

Sky News is reporting that the Dixie Chicks have been in some sort of plane crash in Glasgow. Not sure what the deal is, but I figured I’d post it. Link *Update* They’re ok, it only clipped their wing. To bad it didn’t stuff their mouth. In other Dixie Chicks news, according to this article on livedaily, the Chicks recently said they don’t “feel part of the country scene any longer, it can’t be our home any more,” and that they now, “consider ourselves part of the big rock-and-roll family.” Don’t let the door hit you in the big fat ass.

WSTO morning morons get flagged by the feds.

“Within minutes of airing a segment where the two on-air personalities pretended to have someone put a counterfeit $1 bill in a soda vending machine, the phone lines at WSTO-96.1FM (Hot 96) began to light up. Several callers were concerned that the stunt made light of counterfeiting, and some, including some vending companies, called to criticize.” Link

The end of the line for the “Bottom Line?”

by johnford on September 19, 2003

Everyone from Miles Davis to Bob Dylan has played at the “Bottom Line,” but it appears that the Greenwich Village club has its days numbered. According to an article in Newsday, “The Greenwich Village club - which helped launch Bruce Springsteen nearly 30 years ago - is close to shuttering after falling behind on years of back rent to its landlord, New York University, which has begun eviction proceedings, the venue’s owner said yesterday.” Throw in your two cents at bottomlinecabaret.com if you have any interest in saving the club. Link Update: Sirius Satellite Radio has pledged funds to ” enable the club to continue operating.” Link
