A couple of Facebook friends posted a few pictures from WHSE.

Let’s see if I can remember everyone. Top row from Left:
Joe St Peter, Skip Herman, John Ford, Neil Mirsky, Nina Joy, Drew Mellow
Bottom Row:
Sonny Fox, Nancy G, Ron Hersey, Kim Alexander, Mark Roden
Hey I did it. Here’s a very scary one:

That’s David Ross (I think) and Me in the Minny Mouse Tee in the WSHE studios. Check out the carts and the rack of LP”s behind me and the Cheap Trick and Bob Marley records on the wall.

If you’ve been visiting johnford.net for a while, you may remember I used to run RadioSurfer, the all in one, quick loading radio news portal. I let the site go a couple of years ago, despite much protest. I just didn’t have the time to hard-code the site every day. Well, times have changed and I’ve built a new back-end that enables me to offer the radiosurfer service once again. Unfortunately, I no longer have the domain, but the good news is, I have an even better one. RadioNX.com.
The new RadioNX.com will be updated multiple times a day with links to the radio biz news spread across the net and links to the full articles. I’ve also incorporated a daily news subscription feed and set up a bulletin board. Best of all, it’s lean and mean and loads super-fast with a minimum of unnecessary flash, glitz or bloat. Just the news with minimum junk, fast. Check it out, I’m sure you will like it.

When radio promotions go wrong, they often go very, very wrong. Remember the promotion in Sacramento last year at KDND, when a woman died from water intoxication following "Hold Your Wee for a Wii?" Of course there’s the infamous WKRP Thanksgiving turkey drop promotion. The sad and laughable promotion at the ficticious WKRP, where the lovable but dimwitted GM Arthur Carlson thought that live turkeys dropped from a helicopter would be a good idea on turkey day. Who cold ever forget Carlson’s shocked quip when the turkeys started cascading to the ground in a mass homicidal avian horror? "As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly!"
